The Extraordinary Marriage
Time spent together is a well spent investment. More than likely it's fun and similar interest that brought you together in the first place. The book called "His Needs, Her Needs" says that couples need 15 hours a week together to keep the romantic love flowing. If you think about it... it's when you're both kept way too busy, stressed out and tired, that you snap at each other and are irritated by one another's actions. If you want to spend the rest of your life together... and you want it to be a GOOD life... best remember to continue to invest your time and energy into it.
Here are 7 simple date night ideas. Often, we do the same ole thing, like the movies or dinner out. Finding new things to learn or do together, also gives you something NEW to talk about and keeps life more interesting. In The Chemistry of Lasting Love, I share 50 Date Ideas. You narrow them down by each choosing your Top 10 or 15, then see which ones you have in common. For renewed romance, it's important to spend time doing things you both love together.
Cooking Class: Learn how to make a new dish together. Take a cooking class or watch a YouTube video. We all like to eat. Turn on some music while cleaning up the kitchen together.
Outdoor Adventure: Go hiking or biking together. Enjoy the fresh air and nature while spending quality time together. I learned a new concept a few months ago about grounding yourself, which helps with inflammation in the body, by simply sitting with your naked feet on the ground. Really, look it up.
Themed Movie Night: Pick a theme and watch a series of movies that fit the theme. Create snacks that fit the theme as well. I love going back through some of the movie series like Harry Potter, Star Wars, The Lord of the Rings.
Game Night: Play board games or video games together. You can even create a friendly competition and keep score! Turn on your favorite music.
Spa Night: Create a spa experience at home. Take turns giving each other massages, facials, and manicures. Remember the music. 😍
Volunteer Together: Find a local charity that needs help and volunteer together. This is a great way to bond and give back to your community and besides feeling good about yourself... you'll have something new to talk about.
Go to a Local Event: Look for local events happening in your area. Attend a concert, play, or festival that interests you both. It could even be a local high school football game or musical. Easy on the budget.
These date night ideas can help you reconnect with your spouse, deepen your bond, and create lasting memories.
