The Extraordinary Marriage

Keeping Your Christmas Merry

For me, it's more fun to go to the party rather than BE the party!  Someone else has done the prep, invited the people, decorated, shopped, cooked, and is now serving.  I realized this at my first birthday party for my oldest son.  I loved planning, decorating the cake, greeting the guest... but as the party got started, I got busy and had little time to chit chat with everyone.

Talking with everyone is my happy place

It's Christmas this week, and as I go upstairs to take one more inventory of all the gifts I bought, making sure to have the same amount for each of my 15 grand kids, hoping they like what we got them, this is it.  Tonight, my family celebrates Christmas together.

With 23 people coming for dinner tonight, I have to tell you, it's hard getting everyone together all at once.  Sometimes I yearn to back it all up to the way it was 10 years ago when our group was smaller, easier, simpler.  But this is part of life.  The most important thing is passing along love, caring and the real meaning of Christmas.

I've now come through many seasons of life.  Each holding its own awesomeness and challenges.  While being a guest at the party and receiving gifts was once my favorite, now I love seeing the excitement of others as they open gifts and enjoy one another.

Successful marriages and successful families begin with Godly values.  That's what Christmas is all about.  Yes, we think it's all about us and what gift we're getting but it's really about the greatest gift of all.  God's only son Jesus.

You see, Jesus offers that perfect example.  Never selfish, indignant, or boastful, only loving, encouraging, listening to you intently.  He's there for you, never changing, encouraging and he lives in your heart, inspiring you to live for him, because he gave His life for you.

If you're not enjoying Gods' grace, guidance, and grandeur, you can.  You'll find the path, in the Holy Bible.  The birth of Jesus was prophesied many years before his birth.  The Bible documents his birth and his journey to the cross, where he gave his life for each of us over 2000 years ago.

We celebrate Jesus birth at Christmas.

Research the life of Jesus and let him guide you... find your own path to The Extraordinary Marriage.  It can be yours, when you put your faith in him.

Merry CHRISTmas,  Connie
