The Extraordinary Marriage

Regaining Confidence and Hope in Your Marriage

 Hello Friend,

Are you feeling disconnected from your spouse? Many married women report feeling this way, with pretty good size problems 70% of the time and life is livable... just 30% of the time.  If you find yourself walking on eggshells, dreading your spouse coming home from work, or feeling exhausted from arguments, you're not alone.

Here are three ways to move forward and regain your confidence and hope:

  1. Draw Closer to God:

    • Engage in private prayer.
    • Find a supportive church community.
    • Experience returned hope.
  2. Understand It's Not Your Fault:

    • Recognize that gaslighting may be involved.
    • Acknowledge deeper issues.
    • Know that your spouse may lack the skills to communicate.
  3. Put on the Shoes of Your Spouse:

Coaching Questions to Help You Solve Your Problem:

  • Have you set your expectations too high?
  • What’s most important to each of you in life?
  • What kind of marriage skills do you bring to the table?
  • How about your spouse?
  • Do you know what you each need most from one another to rekindle or enhance that romantic connection?  FREE The Chemistry of Lasting Love
  • Have you learned to accept your differences?  Maybe even lean into them?
  • What are the small things you can do to show your spouse you understand and appreciate him?

You're not going to think just alike, be good at the same things, or have perfect skills in building the marriage you want. But with help, you can figure it out.  That's what I do Online, is help you discover why you each Think, Act, and Respond differently and how this often causes disconnect, but it doesn't have to.

Encouragement from Scripture
To provide encouragement, here are three Bible verses that can support you through this journey:

  1. Philippians 4:6-7 (NIV)
"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."
This verse reminds us to bring our worries and challenges to God in prayer, allowing His peace to fill our hearts and minds, especially in difficult times in our marriage.

  2. 1 Peter 5:7 (NIV)
"Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you."
This verse encourages us to lean on God for support, knowing that He cares deeply about our struggles and desires to help us through them.

  3. Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 (NIV)
"Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them."
This passage emphasizes the strength and support that comes from partnership in marriage. It reminds us that we are not alone and can rely on each other to lift one another up during challenging times.

I hope this helps you move past whatever is holding you back and know that there is help. Choose wisely but do choose. If you keep doing the same things you're doing, you will keep getting the same results. But imagine having a solid, loving spouse you can count on.
