When a beautiful 40 something niece dies of cancer, it's final, it's tragic, followed by such sadness, questioning why does this happen?  One bright light snuffed out by corrosive cancer. She didn't get a choice.

We take life for granted, that there will be a tomorrow.  The truth is, there are detrimental behaviors that erode our relationships, acting like a cancer, but we do have a choice. 

Is it time to let go of the venom of bitterness, hatred, and maybe even fear fed by your past?  What if you have 5 minutes to live, what would be most important to you?  Your money? Your career?

We get stuck in our head, allowing evil voices to squash us and steal our joy.  Keeping attention on all the negative things around us, what we don't like about our spouse, how our kids are driving us nuts and we feel crushed by too many things to take care of.  Bills... work... exhaustion

Why do I share this today?

My husband and I were just talking yesterday about what our parent's taught us.  Anything can happen in life, and no one owes us anything.  It's up to us to work hard and see the best in the people around us, love them, and appreciate them, treat them like WE want to be treated and that you never know when you could lose someone you love.

There are a lot of messed up people out there, of which my niece was not.  Even if you have experience terrible hardships in your life, abusive parents, loss of a parent, maybe you had some horrible relationships or made some choices that took you to dark places.  You don't have to stay there.

Each day, begin to force yourself to see the good around you, appreciating what you DO have and what IS good about your spouse and your life.  Replace the negative thoughts and frustrations as they pop into your head.  Focus on the beauty of Gods nature all around you, talk to God right where you are and ask for his Devine help, begin to practice these things daily.

Embrace love, embrace life.

“Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about these things” (Philippians 4:8)
