The Extraordinary Marriage
Learning Personalities for More Harmony in Marriage

Avoiding the Crazy Cycle

Way too often we find ourselves being pushed and pulled through the day. We open our eyes not knowing where the day will take us. Breakfast for the kids, hunting for the lunch box, where are my keys, one of the kids is missing a shoe. Exhausting and the day is off to terrible start.

Now we’re in defense mode the rest of the day, unprepared, behind the eight ball, ready to jump on the next person who ask us for anything. You bite your spouse’s head off and they wonder why??

This is how you get caught in the “Crazy Cycle”. You bite, he bites, and you’re on your way. How did this happen?

In the picture, my husband and I were enjoying a day at Disney, when it began to pour down rain. We were soaked. If you know me… you know I have puffy curly hair…yes that’s how wet, we were. But we have learned not to sweat the small stuff. When we find ourselves disagreeing, we ask, how much does this really matter??!! Most of the time it doesn’t.

On this rainy day… we took lemons and made lemonade as we ran through the rain laughing, looking for cover. We CHOSE to take the high road, use a bit of humor, and let it go.

This week, Disney had snow… I am thankful for our warm rainy day. One of the kids at an afterschool program I work in said she was at Disney last week. Burr.

When you are meeting the needs of your spouse… you get along better. How do you know what those are? Find them in “The Chemistry of Lasting Love”, a free gift I have for you. Invest the TIME in yourselves and go through the recordings and materials given. I promise… IF you do and you begin to focus on what it tells you for the next few weeks… YOU WILL find a difference.
